Call us

Puerto Vallarta´s newest and brightest jewel is Villa Mandarinas. This 15,000 sq. ft. architectural masterpiece cascades down six beautiful levels of native vegetation, over dramatic cliffs and through colorful gardens overlooking the beach and cove where “The Night of the Iguana” was filmed. The “Los Arcos” National Park, with its distinctive arched rocks, is considered the centerpiece of the best views in Banderas Bay and stars as the highlight of every vista in this majestic home. Beyond it, downtown Puerto Vallarta, only 15 minutes away.

The road to Mismaloya is one of the most beautiful drives in all of Jalisco. Villa Mandarinas´ distinctive architecture and unique colors can be seen in glimpses from the coastal road miles away, emerging from behind Los Arcos and then disappearing behind the cove where Richard Burton and Liz Taylor fell in love with Mexico.

As soon as you turn into Villa Mandarinas´ beautiful stone driveway, you are greeted by the spectacular view that will set the scene throughout your stay and linger in your memory even after your vacation is over. The one downside to this amazing home is that it is very difficult to leave.

The nondescript entrance to the house cannot prepare you for the 7- room estate that awaits below. This is one of the features that assure not only your privacy but your security as well. The home is welcoming to its guests while remaining almost invisible to the outside world.

As with so many things in this region, Villa Mandarinas is all about contrasts. Its comfortable but luxurious ambiance allows a person to gradually free themselves from the pressures of every day life, while still having all of the conveniences, amenities and connectivity with the outside world that a person could need. Soaring ceilings, and great rooms open onto terraces, bedrooms, landings and patios throughout the house and the myriad variety of windows, glass doors and openings offer you constant contact with the natural environment that surrounds you. It is a home that is truly married to the environment.

The central feature of the house is the circular Haya wood stairs. A large rock sits at its base grounding it to the natural surroundings. You have now arrived at the entertainment area of the house. An open space with cathedral ceiling and wrap around glass doors accommodates a gourmet kitchen, spectacular dining room and spacious living room. When opened, the sliding doors disappear and the outdoor space of patio, gardens, “palapa” bar, brick oven and infinity pool merges with the interior, giving you an immense space for social gatherings.

All of the furniture and decorations throughout the house have been selected to enhance your Mexican experience. Artifacts have been brought from all over Mexico as well as custom made. Four hand blown chandeliers were commissioned to complement the loftiness and colors of the home. The chandelier in the dining room illuminates a one of a kind Sabino wood table carved from a single tree trunk. This amazing table seats up to 16 guests, or more, and the view as you dine, over the infinity pool and across the bay to the islands is nothing short of amazing.

Additional amenities of the villa include an open playroom with pool table, bar, large 50´´ flat screen TV and lounge area; a fitness center with elliptical trainer, treadmill, and weights and a fire pit for bonfire nights. As a completely unique feature, Architect Alberto Alvarez has created a saltwater pool set amongst the rocks of the ocean´s edge, just steps away from your own little private man-made beach. One more aspect of his vision of what a home this amazing deserves.

For any off-land escapes, a private pier gives you access to kayaks, great “on location” snorkeling and the villa´s private “panga” or local motorboat. From there, Bandera Bay and its coast are readily available for you.

Keep in mind that the house is fully staffed with a housekeeper, chef, breakfast cook and waiter. There is also a bilingual general manager that will make it her business to accommodate you and set the staff to the rhythm of pace that you want to keep. In addition, laundry service, baby sitting, extra private guards and a chauffeured vehicle, as well as many other services, are available for additional fees, upon request.

The nature of this home is such that words and pictures can only offer a mere suggestion of its unique beauty. The inspiration of its architect and designer can only be fully appreciated by those fortunate enough to visit, taking away with them a true understanding of what it is to live “La Pura Vida”.

Bedrooms
The seven master bedrooms boast spectacular views of the bay. They each have their own distinct aspect of color, style and décor, and include an iPod dock so that you can add your own special ambiance. All have individual private terraces shaded by bamboo gracefully complimenting the colors of the estate. The unique features of each master bathroom are reflections of the creative and artistic inspirations of Villa Mandarinas´ designers. In one bedroom there is a half a ton sink that has been carved from a volcanic boulder, so massive that it had to be installed first; the room was later built around it. Two other master bathrooms share a single pillar of stone that stretches across two floors and binds the rooms with the natural elements of the land.

The seven master rooms have also telephone service, air conditioning, safe deposit boxes & hair dryer.

Puerto Vallarta
Set on the shoreline of the second largest bay in the Americas with the green foothills of the majestic Sierra Madre at its back, this is the romantic city on the Mexican Riviera–the traditional Mexican village–the city of grand hotels and cobblestone streets. If ever there was a town full of beautiful contrasts, that town is Puerto Vallarta.
